I think a potential scammer has contacted me. What can I do? What should I look out for?
There have been an increasing number of scammers who will use FastJobs' name to reach out to Jobseekers.
Online scammers have various sophisticated ways and means of reaching out to unsuspecting public en masse through mobile messaging such as SMS, Whatsapp and Telegram. They may also feign representation as a FastJobs account manager or sales person offering you a position you saw on our app/portal. This is cautioned as we are not a recruitment agency and neither our sales or service team will hire directly on behalf of employers in Singapore.
How can you spot a potential scammer?
Mentioned that your resume was found from FastJobs when you did not apply for any jobs recently and/or the position does not sound familiar to you.
The salary is too good to be true.
Invite you to another WhatsApp/Telegram group chat
Asking for your bank details and/or personal information before any offer has been made or the contract signed.
There are many other ways the scammers will reach out to you and if you are unsure, you can always reach out to customercare@fastjobs.sg and attach screenshots of the conversation. Our Customer Care representatives will investigate and assist you.
You can always be assured that FastJobs does not release personal information to employers without prior consent of the applicant and to employers you have already applied towards. Employers can directly review your resume and access your contact if you have indeed applied for their jobs.
Other than informing FastJobs, what can I do?
Immediately stop any engagement with the other party.
Capture all conversations (Voice calls, Messages, and/or Emails) as a record for your protection in the event of an investigation
Do not engage in any exchange of monies before work has officially commenced, and we recommend to refrain commencing work, especially online, without valid documentation or hiring processes from the employer.
