# What is geofence attendance?

Geofence attendance is a technology-driven system that uses GPS to create a virtual, geographic boundary around a workplace or job site. By establishing this digital perimeter, businesses can ensure that staff are physically present at the correct location before they can commence their shift. It enables giggers to log attendance via scanning of the outlet QR code with the FastGig mobile app only when they are detected within this designated perimeter.

This process effectively automates time-tracking, providing accurate records for payroll while eliminating common issues like attendance fraud or "buddy punching".
